The pages for pictures from 2001, 2003, 2004, and 2005 were shot with either a Canon EOS Rebel X-S (35mm) or Mamiya C330 (120mm). At some point after 2005 my Canon died. The 120mm was on loan and I had to return it. My new camera is a digital Canon Rebel XTS (10.1mp). From 2008 on, all pictures were shot with this camera.
I've always gone to the SoCal faire, accept for 1 trip to Georgia in 2008.
April 12, 2008: Back from the 2008 Georgia faire. Pics posted on the 2008 Georgia pictures page.
May 4, 2005: Back from 2nd visit to the 2005 faire. 31 more pics on the 2005 pictures page, including...Cucumber Girl!
April 21, 2005: Back from the 2005 faire. Here's the 2005 pictures page.
May 31, 2004: Just back from the 2004 faire. Here's the 2004 pictures page. Less scenery this year, apparently. More non-scenery pics though.
May 12, 2003: Joy! I made it to the faire this year after all. Have a look at the 2003 pictures page.
March 18, 2002:
Simplified the 2001 pictures page
, putting them all together in one area.
August 11, 2001:
Just finished the roll that I took the last couple of RenFaire pictures on.
Added to the 2001 pictures page
.
June 3, 2001:
Just posted the 35mm pictures I took on saturday the 2nd.
Got the 120m pictures back but was unsuccessful at scanning them, so I took them back to have prints made, which should arrive on the 7th or 8th.
May 30, 2001:
Just posted the 35mm pictures I took on sunday the 28th.
I also changed the thumbnails from about 150x200 to about 75x100, so the 2001
pictures page
ought to load a bit faster now.
May 27, 2001:
Just posted the 35mm pictures I took yesterday.
If I took your picture with the normal looking camera (one lens) on saturday, these are those pictures.
If I took your picture with the funny looking camera (two lenses on the front, camera looked kind of boxy), those pictures aren't developed yet since that camera uses a different kind of film (120mm) that I have to get developed at a specialty shop.
The 2001 pictures page
has thumbnails that point to a larger version of each image.
The 2001 pictures page
may take a moment to load since the thumbnails, while small, do total a fair bit of memory.
Yes, the site's kind of plain.
Things load faster that way.
The RenFaire pictures on this site were taken either with a 35mm camera (Canon EOS Rebel X-S) or a 120mm camera (Mamiya C330).
I had the pictures developed, then I scanned them.
The pictures you see here have been cropped and run through Adobe Photoshop for color/brightness/contrast adjustments, then reduced in resolution to roughly 1024x768. The images were scanned at 600dpi, which makes an image closer to 3000x2000.
I also turned down the jpeg quality a bit since I want the image size (bytes, I mean) to be something manageable- about 70k to 80k in this case.
The photographs are better, though not too terribly different, than what you see here.
You want your picture taken?
I'm happy to help.
The way i've done things in the past is this:
If it's a big function like a wedding, i'll take pictures either for a seat at the banquet or a seat at the banquet plus costs (film + developing, etc), depending on the quality of the food and how many pictures are wanted.
If it's RenFaire type stuff or <wink, wink, nudge, nudge> type stuff, it's probably free.
If it's a non-food, completely G-rated function, i'd probably want costs to be covered.

Sponsored links to other sites.
Unless the description I write for someone's link says 'sponsored,' nobody paid me anything in any way (money, product, or service) to have the link to their site.
I'm just being nice. The same goes for the descriptions- unless it has quotes around it and I clearly say so, the description is something I just wrote by myself.

If you are a girl and think uncovered flesh of this sort is offensive or something, i'd suggest sending your boyfriend/husband (assuming you trust him) to a RenFaire alone, then seeing how...happy he is to see you when he gets home.
If you are a guy and you think uncovered flesh of this sort is offensive, you're weird.
