At about 11:35am, sunday, April 20, 2008 I was walking northbound on the west side of Peachtree St, south of North Ave, approaching the intersection of Peachtree St and North Ave in Atlanta, GA. The light was green for north / south traffic on Peachtree St, with a 'no left turn' sign for northbound Peachtree St to westbound North Ave. A pickup truck (pictured below) was proceeding southbound on Peachtree St through the intersection. A minivan (pictured below) was attempting to turn left from northbound Peachtree St to westbound North Ave. I do not recall whether or not the minivan was actually moving at the moment of impact. The front left corner of the minivan was protruding out of the Peachtree St turning lane into opposing (southbound) traffic. The front left corner of the minivan and the left side of the pickup truck collided. The pickup truck proceeded through the intersection and stopped on the west side of southbound Peachtree St, just past the intersection. The minivan completed the left turn and stopped on the north side of westbound North Ave, just past the intersection. Both drivers appeared to be in good health and were exchanging information. I took the pictures below and provided my name and phone number to both drivers. Neither vehicle moved from the time both vehicles stopped to the time the pictures below were taken. I sat down on a nearby set of stairs and wrote down this account of the accident. I then left the scene.
